This large global manufacturing retail company is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to provide support and assist with the coordination of financial accounting, internal controls and reporting activities. The role requires the ability to manage staff, help build and lead an effective business partnership among the wholesale accounting and manufacturing operations at the corporate headquarters. Qualified candidates will also have the ability to define and maintain the accounting and reporting structure to support future growth of manufacturing and wholesale operations. Must have experience to actively engage and guide the manufacturing accounting team to meet its goals and objectives.


In this position, you will be responsible for managing the accounting, manufacturing and wholesale operations. Departments will be responsible to manage and guide the manufacturing accounting team to meet it's goals and objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with setting accounting policies and procedures for the manufacturing companies


Prepare analytical reviews and reporting packages for senior management


Manage monthly financial reporting for wholesale and manufacturing operations


Handle and resolve any accounting and internal control issues timely and effectively


Assist in the audit process by assembling and reviewing audit working papers


Responsible for monthly closing and financial reporting deadlines



REQUIREMENTS:

Accounting or Finance degree, CPA is strongly preferred


6 years of advanced accounting experience; extensive knowledge of GAAP


Supervisory Experience; ability to lead teams


Excellent understanding of cost accounting


Strong planning, analytical and interpersonal skills


Manufacturing Accounting Experience, a plus


Strong leadership skills


Excellent organizational and problem solving skills


Proficiency in Excel, Word and computerized accounting systems
