Position Title Activity Director - Title V

Description Supervise the complex implementation and evaluation of the Department of Education Title V Grant - Graduate Transition Center: Improving Strengths of Students, Faculty and Degrees, in compliance with MSMC and federal regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of activity development and monitor all activity objectives and evaluation, noting barriers to progress.
2. Hire, supervise and evaluate all staff and manage activity reporting, according to federal regulations.
3. Recruit and work with faculty participants and help with faculty training.
4. Coordinate all aspects of the Graduate Transitions Center and its staff and design and conduct the intensive orientation program.
5. Coordinate all aspects of the three major parts of the activity and all faculty development.
6. Coordinate equipment purchases and installation, and manage all funds according to MSMC and Title V regulations.
7. Submit Interim Report and Annual Performance Report data and documents to the Project Coordinator.
8. Support data collection, work with the Office of Institutional Planning and Research and with the External Evaluator to monitor all evaluation.
9. Gather data and provide various reports.
10. Maximize the use of limited funding.
11. Work closely with the Project Coordinator to benefit the activity.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Knowledge of curriculum development, particularly dealing with graduate students.
Sufficient working knowledge of computers and applicable software applications (i.e., word-processing, spreadsheet, email, internet).
Accurately and efficiently identify actual and potential problems and generate plausible solutions. Build rapport and interact, communicate and work effectively with staff, faculty and students, as well as with persons outside of the MSMC community.
Strong organization and prioritization, oral/written communication, project management, interpersonal, public relations, supervision and budget management skills.
Understanding of, and sensitivity to, a diverse college environment; familiarity with MSMC a plus.
A minimum of either three to five years of academic administration or five years of teaching experience.
Bachelor's degree required; doctorate degree preferred.
