With the right outdoor antenna; this transmitter will cover two miles with ease and more (4+ miles) in the right location. This is a spare transmitter we purchased with three others and no longer need a forth one. We take our other transmitter camping and boating; so we can share our XM with other campers and boaters. At home we connect it to our Dish Network so we can broadcast our favorite music around the ranch.
