My name is Bjorn Englen. I have taught bass, incl. at B.I.T. (Musicians Institute), through clinics World wide, at Paul Green’s School of Rock, privately and as the Head Bass Instructor at Rock Nation, for over 19 years. I have played the bass for over 25 years, professionally for 20 years. I have toured the world and recorded with many gold and platinum recording artists, and I feel lucky and privileged to be able to share what I have learned with my students. I’m currently the bass player for legendary guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen, and in the past for Quiet Riot, Robin McAuley (Survivor/MSG) as well as members of Foreigner, David Lee Roth, Dio, Ozzy, Elton John, Journey, Dream Theater, Rainbow, Night Ranger, Heart, Deep Purple, Steve Vai, Paul Rodgers, George Lynch - to name a few. I work very well with kids and beginners. I teach most styles of music and techniques, and my approach is very patient and friendly. I specialize in taking intermediate and advanced/professional Rock, Pop, Metal and Blues Players to a much higher level by making them understand bass playing and music in a deeper and more logical way. I teach techniques, fretboard orientation, effective learning and theory in a way that will rapidly improve your playing and confidence on stage and in the studio, as well as help you find your own style. NOTE: Whether you are a Pro or a Beginner it is extremely important that you develop PROPER basic techniques and understanding of the instrument. Bad habits are hard to break.
