Overview:
Interactive Travel Website is looking for a User Interaction Designer / Web Designer to design and develop the best possible user experiences using Web 2.0 principles for our website and Social Network Applications. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Work with the Product team to design user flows, wire frames, page layouts and prototypes for new and existing features • Help define solutions for new products as well as testing, evaluating and changing existing products to improve performance in key areas • Translate findings from Consumer feedback and business metrics into goal driven designs • Work collaboratively with Product Managers, QA, and Developers and serve as the user advocate • Responsible for high-level design and implementation of various aspects of our online presence, such as web user interface design, page layouts, promotional landing pages email campaigns, Flash banners, newsletters and other online components for our services, as well as occasional print pieces. • Captures advanced technical knowledge and skills, such as interactive design, user experience, marketing techniques and consumer demand, and applies them to the company’s business objectives • Helps foster an open and productive atmosphere within the Product Team • Work with front end Development team to develop HTML and CSS Qualifications: JOB QUALIFICATIONS: • Strong experience in designing usable web-based interfaces for consumer facing web site and applications • A good understanding of user-centered design process • Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color and page layout • In depth understanding of Ajax • Experience with taking a data-driven approach to design • Extensive knowledge of visual design, information design, and interaction design • Heavy project management skills are critical including adaptability, time management and meeting objectives • Must be flexible and resilient with the ability to give and take direction from multiple teams within the organization • Ability to interact with Senior Management • Undergraduate degree in design or experience in a related field is a must • Experience with Social Networks and Social Network Applications • Candidate must have experience hand-coding HTML and CSS • Minimum of five years experience in online design at an agency, studio or contractual work * Required software and technical knowledge HTML, CSS, DHTML, Photoshop, Illustrator * Desired software and technical knowledge: Flash, ActionScript Company offers a GREAT working environment, and a benefits package that includes company-paid medical, dental, & 401K. *** Candidates must be local, as relocation is not available.
