Date Listed: May-08-08 RESEARCH PROJECT ON SIBLING LOSS IN EARLY ADULTHOOD! Sibling have the most enduring relationship that one can experience in their lives, though the importance and relevance of the bond that is shared between siblings is often undervalued. This can be felt more so when a sibling suffers the untimely death of one of their siblings. Life is never the same for the surviving sibling, as they must absolutely redefine their lives, at times completely unaided. Little is understood about sibling loss, especially during early adulthood and the impact it has on the surviving sibling’s identity. This research project aims to give a voice to these surviving siblings. Graduate student seeking any person who, between the ages of 18 – 30 years experienced the sudden loss of their sibling, and that would be interested in participating in a doctoral research project concerning how this experience impacted their identity. The sibling’s commitment would entail two interviews.
